A photographer is nurtured

In 2008 I undertook a short term project to create photographs portraying a "positive image" of breastfeeding. Through this project I was able to combine my passion for the normalization of breastfeeding, with my "trade" of photography, to capture some of the most beautiful moments between mother and child. And in doing so, decided to change the primary focus of my photography to the early journey of motherhood through photographing pregnancy, newborns and nursing moments. The first 10 mothers who sat for me, did so in order to help with the project of portraying a positive image of breastfeeding for the Utah Breastfeeding Coalition.
