Jocelyn & Crew

Jocelyn was one of my "micro session" moms a few weeks before World Breastfeeding Week, during Latch On America in July. She wanted another set of photos, but mostly we did family photos this day, Friday, in Murray Park. . . nursing Asher while Eden happily waits
Twinners
All four of her babies
I did individual shots with each child
Now nursing Eden
Amazing lady. . .some of us tandem nurse a toddler and a new baby, but this mama was nursing a toddler when her babieS came along and now she has three nursing babes

Mali & Jet

Two of my favorite people of all time :) I was at the birth of this little boy & his mama! By World Breastfeeding Week he was just about to be 7 months old and his mama was a super sick lady this week, not telling ANYONE. . . that tricky lady. She shows up and supports to many of my crazy endeavors and I love her for it!

Hana & Hendrix

This is one of those mamas who just showed up on Thursday. Always glad to meet new people. She was actually a volunteer for the Cafe in 2011, which is how she heard of the fundraiser. This was Henry's birthday too!

Heather & Chloe

This is my second year doing photos of Heather & Chloe, and by next year (August 2012) another little girl will be on the scene.

Catherine & Lucas

I'm so far behind on posting photos from World Breastfeeding Week. . .since it's been six months, THIS WEEK, I thought I'd try to get back to it. Like many of the moms who take part in this fundraiser, I met Catherine through La Leche League. . . maybe I should skip the intros and just post the photos huh?  (especially since it's been another three months since I wrote the above)

Alyse & Wyatt

Aren't these two just the cutest?!Alyse couldn't decide if she wanted the indoor/studio type setting that we provide for one of the days of shooting, or the outdoor park setting, so. . . you know. . .it's a fundraiser. . . I felt charitable, and enjoy the company and she showed up for two different shoots. Though I love using this fundraiser to add to a portfolio of gorgeous breastfeeding photos that help to continue to create a positive image of breastfeeding, I'm also happy to allow families to come for mini-portrait sessions, since all of the fundraising goes to the same place. So for the second shoot, Alyse brought along her husband, we did a short family photo session and Wyatt was too busy being a toddler in a park, to want to sit down to nurse, but we did get the ONE shot in the tall grasses :) So it was probably a good thing that they'd been there for nursing portraits on Thursday first :)

World Breastfeeding Week 2011

For the second year, I held a World Breastfeeding Week fundraiser to raise funds for the La Leche League group I volunteer with, as a leader. The week was another great success. I had 16 families who showed up for the photo sessions, which took place in three hour blocks, over three days and in three different locations around the Salt Lake Valley. My next set of posts will be those 16 families (three of whom chose not to have photos from their shoots shared, so really just 13 families). We had a great year, it's an AWESOME fundraiser. I love meeting the new moms, some are moms who show up for all of my fundraisers and nursing portrait promotions, but others just show up at the last minute, having heard of our fundraiser online or through a friend. We raised over $300 this year, $30+ went to LLL of UT, another $30+ went to WBW (LLL USA) and more than $250 went to our own LLL group. Thank you to all who participated!
